Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
Mever desktop app: Your video and audio files never leave your Mac — they are processed entirely on your device. When you type an editing instruction, the text of your instruction and project metadata (such as clip names, timeline structure, and text overlay content) are sent to our server, which forwards them to the Anthropic Claude API for processing. We do not transmit your actual media files (video, audio, or images) to any external server.
Website analytics: When you visit our website, we use Cloudflare Zaraz and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with the site. We collect anonymized data such as page views, button clicks, screen size, browser type, and approximate geographic region (country/city level). Your IP address is not stored — Google Analytics 4 anonymizes and discards it before recording. We do not collect any content you type or any personally identifiable information through analytics. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.
Advertising and traffic sources: We occasionally run paid advertising on third-party platforms (such as Reddit) to reach early users. When you arrive on our website via an advertisement, the URL may contain identifying parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_id, and platform-specific click identifiers (e.g., rdt_cid for Reddit). These parameters are captured by the website analytics described above and are used to measure which campaigns drive traffic.
Conversion measurement (Reddit): To measure the effectiveness of our Reddit advertising campaigns, we transmit conversion events (such as starting a free download, opening paid checkout, or signing up for the feature waitlist) to Reddit Inc. via two channels: the Reddit Pixel (delivered through Cloudflare Zaraz, our first-party tag manager) and the Reddit Conversions API (server-to-server). The conversion events we transmit include starting a free download, opening paid checkout, signing up for the feature waitlist, and engagement signals such as the pricing section being viewed. Before transmission, your email address (when explicitly provided, e.g. via the feature waitlist) and IP address are hashed with SHA-256 on our servers; the raw values are never sent to Reddit and are not retained in our application logs. Your browser's User-Agent string is forwarded in its raw form (as Reddit's specification requires for delivery verification) but is not stored on our side. The Reddit click identifier (rdt_cid) and a deduplication ID are sent alongside so both channels can be reconciled. We transmit this data solely for conversion measurement and campaign attribution, and we do not intend to use it to build retargeting audiences. If you request deletion of your data under applicable privacy laws, we will request that Reddit delete the transmitted hashed conversion events on our behalf; however, because Reddit's Conversions API does not currently expose an event-deletion API, complete removal of historical records on Reddit's side cannot be technically guaranteed. You can opt out prospectively by enabling tracking protection in your browser (e.g., Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention, Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection), or by adjusting ad personalization settings on Reddit.
Purchase information: When you purchase Mever, your payment and billing information is collected and processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy . We receive your name and email address for license delivery and support purposes. To link your purchase to the trial account already running on your Mac, we embed a one-way hashed device identifier (device_id_hash) as a custom field in the Lemon Squeezy checkout URL. This identifier is derived from your Mac's hardware UUID using SHA-256 with a server-side salt and cannot be reversed to the original hardware value. It is used solely to bind a completed purchase to the corresponding trial account on our server, is not used to track you across accounts or third-party sites, and is not used for advertising. This is separate from the SHA-256 hashing of email and IP described above for Reddit conversion measurement.
device_id_hash retention & deletion:
The device_id_hash stored on our server lives alongside your account
record for the lifetime of your subscription (or trial). On Lemon
Squeezy's side, the value is retained inside the order's
custom_data field; the
specific retention period is governed by Lemon Squeezy's
privacy notice
and Data Processing Agreement (typically the lifetime of the order
record plus any period required to satisfy tax and accounting
obligations applicable to Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record).
Under GDPR Article 17 ("right to erasure") — and, where they apply,
comparable provisions such as the CCPA's right to delete — you may
request deletion of your device_id_hash from our server records at
any time by emailing
[email protected]; we will fulfil the request to the extent
required by applicable law (we cannot delete copies retained by
Lemon Squeezy where their own legal obligations require retention —
those requests must be directed to Lemon Squeezy).
Note that the local device identifier from which the hash is
derived is intentionally preserved on your Mac across in-app
"Deactivate License" actions in order to prevent trial-account
farming; it can only be removed by uninstalling Mever and clearing
its Keychain entries (or by the server-side deletion request above).
Feedback data: When you submit a bug report or feature request through the in-app chat, we collect the content of your report, including a summary, reproduction steps or use case description, and the relevant portion of your conversation. You may optionally provide a contact email address to allow us to follow up with you. This data is stored on our servers and used solely to improve the product.
2. Feature Waitlist
When you sign up for our feature waitlist (via the popup on our website or the "Upcoming Features" link in the footer), we collect:
- Email address — to send you a notification when a feature you selected becomes available.

This data is stored in Cloudflare KV (operated by Cloudflare, Inc.) and is retained until you unsubscribe. Notification emails are sent via Resend , which processes your email address solely for delivery purposes.
We process this data based on your consent at signup. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing — click the unsubscribe link in any notification email, or contact us at the email address below. Upon unsubscription, your email address and feature preferences are permanently deleted from our systems.
